What is UserThoughts?

UserThoughts is a video based feedback collection system. We believe it is imperative to have a continuous feedback loop throughout a web site's development process. UserThoughts aims to close that loop by capturing screencasts [with Audio] of users using web sites and delivering this feedback in the form of flash video to the owners of the web site.

Who can use UserThoughts?

If you answered "yes" to either of the above questions, then you can benefit from UserThoughts. If you own a website, then UserThoughts can help you get feedback on your site from actual users matching your demographic of choice.

And if you're a frequent Internet browser and can voice your thoughts clearly, then this is your chance to let your voice be heard. Once you're signed up and approved, you'll be asked to evaluate specific web sites. Our recorder software will capture all of your actions on this site and create a video - which will then be shared with the owner of the site. And the best part? You get paid for helping out [at least most of the time]

What is a feedback sample?

A Feedback Sample is a video of your impressions of a certain website recorded using the Feedback Capture system. But in this case, your feedback is used for your approval process only.

What is Mechanical Turk [MTurk]?

MTurk is short for Amazon Mechanical Turk. MTurk allows you to earn some extra money in return for performing certain kinds of tasks on the Internet. These tasks are usually very difficult for computers to do, but very easy for humans. An example of such a task would be - identifying how many people are present in a certain picture. Another example would be - choosing what name you like better from a list of suggestions for a certain product, such as a new soap coming out in the market.

Why does UserThoughts use MTurk?

You need a trustworthy system to get paid for your tasks - without fear of lost cheques, errors in electronic payment gateways etc. And we need to have a system that works anywhere in the world.
